City Mall is located along Jalan Lintas at its own little oasis. There is no other interesting place around the mall, no shop lots and no tourist attraction spot. Mostly locals come to this mall. It gets quite good traffic especially weekends despite the out of town location.
With that said, I must also say that there is plenty things to do in this little mall if you have half a day to spare. Did I say half a day? I said that because it is not a very big mall like 1Borneo.
The main part of the mall is air conditioned and the other half is not. If you count the non air condition area then it is pretty big. However I will not recommend venturing this area unless you like sauna. Furthermore there is not much to see here; few offices, hair saloon, beauty shops etc.
If you like small non branded clothing outlets then this is one of the malls to find them.
The outlets selling cloths are mostly found inside the main area. There are not many considering the size of the mall. They have one departmental clothing store and a Giant hypermarket at the ground floor.
They recently opened Cinema City Cineplex at the top floor. It is still brand new so I love it. An amusement arcade is also found on the same floor as the Cineplex.
For food, there is a nice food court on the 2nd Floor. I have tried the non chinese version of Ngiu Chap (Beef Noodle) which was surprisingly tasty. The claypot porridge at the far end is also good. And in my opinion the Kuching laksa found here is almost one of the best in KK.
If you want something fancier, just head down to the unconditioned area and you will find lots of eateries from Bak Kut Teh to Starbucks.
Ceyln Hotel is located right inside the mall area so if you want a place to sleep this is it. There is no other hotel nearby.
